Project description
The device serves to join aluminium bodywork parts. Two parts are always joined together while a worker puts them one by one into a pallet. The system assesses whether they are placed properly using sensors, after that both parts are fastened pneumatically and reciprocal riveting takes place.
Interesting facts
The device uses a riveting technology without any prepared holes. The rivet perforates metal sheets and is deformed afterwards which creates a firm joint which cannot be dismantled.
